Description
Heart of Oregon Corps’ AmeriCorps Conservation Corps program serves local young people ages 17-24 throughout Central Oregon, and improves over 1,000 acres of public lands a year. Crews of 7-8 local young people and a Staff Crew Leader serve mostly outdoors on natural resource conservation projects. Crews learn to use a chainsaw or crosscut saw, build a fence, control invasive weeds, and maintain hiking/biking trails. Project partners include the Deschutes and Ochoco US Forest Service, Prineville BLM District, and Bend Parks & Rec, among many others.
Cohorts starting in April, June, and July. Term is a 3-month commitment and is a full-time position. Schedule is Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Meeting locations in Bend and Prineville.
