Job Description Full Time Summer Help Laborer In Precast Concrete Plant, Will Train Precast Concrete Manufacturer Seeks An Energetic Laborer. This is a full time position with potential for permanent full time employment if you are able to obtain a Class B CDL. Candidate must be dependable and must be able to work in an industrial environment. This means you will get somewhat dirty while working at our precast concrete operation. Do not apply if you are uncomfortable with this. Precast Concrete work is performed inside our heated manufacturing building. In addition to performing precast concrete work in the plant you will be trained to drive forklifts. The successful candidate will receive 40-hrs per week. The work day is typically 7:00a.m. - 3:30p.m. with some overtime (as needed). Our business operates 6-days per week: Monday through Saturday. You will be scheduled to work 5-days, with Sunday and a day off during the week. The following attributes are desired for the successful candidate: - Dependable, conscientious and enthusiastic worker who can attend to details - You must have transportation to/from our location -- Experience working in a concrete plant/with concrete, or similar work is a plus - Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts is a plus - Ability to dead lift 100 pounds is required along with good physical conditioning - You must be able to work on your feet all day (except for breaks and lunch) - You must be able to bend, reach, and climb on and around steel forms - You must be focused and safety minded - You must be able to communicate effectively - You must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen Our plant is located near Golf and River Roads on the northeast side of Des Plaines. Starting hourly rate is 17.00/hour. Pay is weekly. Full time permanent employees with Class B CDL earn 26.00/hr upon 3-year anniversary.
