General Excavation Site Laborer Marks Clearing & Grading is looking for an experienced and hard working General Laborer. This is is an excellent opportunity to get in with a growing company at the ground level. Our aim is to retain our employees and build a small family-centered business. Job Description: As a general laborer, you will report to the Marks Clearing & Grading owner. You will be responsible for developing and adhering to a safety culture respective of Marks Clearing & Grading among rigorous tasks specific to the production of each job. Job Responsibilities and Duties: Hand shoveling for building and trench excavation. Operating mechanical tampers for back filling excavation.-Assisting supervisor with survey staking. Working alongside heavy and noisy equipment and assisting operators with equipment maintenance.. Assist with installation and maintenance of erosion control measures. Assist with building retaining walls Assist with laying sod Picking up trash/debris and general site cleaning and maintenance and assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials & tools Various tasks needing you to operate compact equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, chainsaw etc.) * Skills and Abilities: · Must have physical ability to stand for long periods in a strenuous work environment · Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment and lift up to 50 pounds · Ability to work in teams as well as independently with minimum supervision · Ability to communicate and interact both verbally and written · A keen eye to details and good decision making skills · Ability to complete work projects on time and in an effective manner while following all health and safety regulations · Flexible to work during odd hours Job Type: Full-time Pay: $13-20 per hour Schedule: 10 hour shift 12 hour shift Weekends Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience: Construction Experience: 2 year (Preferred)
