Campus Facilities Management (CFM) provides year-round facility management service to the beautiful campus' of Oaks Christian School and Calvary Community Church located in Westlake Village. Our clients are constantly growing and creating new experiences for their patrons, CFM is on site to help them fulfill their visions. CFM is looking for a responsible and energetic person who loves working outdoors! You will be tasked with learning how to maintain and manage the daily landscaping responsibilities required to achieve an aesthetically and professional looking campus for our clients. Candidates should be comfortable operating heavy machinery such as ride-on lawn mowers, forklifts, and scissor lifts used in tree trimming projects. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Landscaper will ensure the growth and vibrancy of our plants, flowers, lawn and decorative shrubs. Landscaper will water, fertilize and prune to remove damaged or dying plant life. Landscaper can expect to work outdoors in a mix of weather conditions Manage and repair irrigation systems onsite Operate push or riding lawn mowers; may operate heavier tractor equipment if needed Spread fertilizer, plant food, mulch and other materials around plants Remove weeds and dead plants; prune overgrown limbs and leaves Trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls Treat lawn and landscaping with pesticides to remove harmful insects Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival Plant new flowers, bushes, plants and decorative shrubs Rake fallen leaves and remove debris Oversee maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures and concrete walkways QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED: Ability to work with minimal supervision Experience in the grounds maintenance field is preferred but not required; willing train Experience with sprinkler control systems and irrigation controls is a plus but not required Proactive person who isn't afraid to make decisions and/or recommendations regarding landscaping projects and improvements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to endure prolonged and repetitive bending, kneeling, walking, digging and sweeping Must be able to tolerate, and perform duties, in extremes of outside elements such as heat, cold, rain etc. Must be able or learn to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment Ability to use computer programs, primarily for: clocking in/out, checking e-mails and closing work orders Ability to speak and understand English Ability to speak and understand Spanish Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 6:30AM - 3:00PM Saturday/Sunday: OFF Required Screening: Background Check Valid Driver's License Tuberculosis & Drug/Alcohol Test Valid Work Authorization
