The goal of Edúcate Ya’s Health Educator Program is to train bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteers to deliver culturally sensitive general preventive health and HIV/STI prevention information to high-risk Latinx adults, families, and youth living throughout the Portland metropolitan area and in migrant camps, rural, and farmworker communities in neighboring locations. We engage in many outreach events throughout Oregon, and impact hundreds of members of the Latinx community in addition to offering HIV rapid testing as part of the outreach events.
