Job Description Philmont Country Clubs North Course was debuted in 1923 and showcases the design of architect Willie Park Jr. and was built by William Flynn. Over the years, the North Course has played host to many of golf’s historic names, including Ben Hogan, Gene Sarazen and Sam Snead. It also served for the Web.Com and as a qualifying site for the U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur Championship. Philmont Country Club is looking to add to its Agronomic Team. The course was established in 1906 with a bunker renovation of the North Course was completed in 2018 by Golf Course Architect Andrew Green. Working closely with historical data, Green redesigned and repositioned the bunkering throughout the layout of the course to meet the modern standards of the game. He also crafted a new 18th hole and new practice green. Philmont boasts a 21 hole golf course, a championship +18 hole course and a 3 hole warm up facility. Philmont is looking to build on the core staff it presently has with qualified individuals for the upcoming season. Philmont is looking for seasonal full time and seasonal part time positions. This is a perfect opportunity for recent graduates and retirees. Qualifications: Candidate must be self motivated Candidate must have a positive attitude Candidate must have a great work ethic Candidate must have reliable transportation and be prompt to work Every other weekend is a requirement Duties Include: Candidates will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the golf course and grounds at Philmont Country Club. The typical shift is from 6:00 am until 2:30 pm. Mowing of all playing surfaces Bunker maintenance Irrigation repair and maintenance Ability to be trained on equipment such as mowers, utility carts, tractors and specialty turf equipment Operate equipment in a safe manner according to OSHA standards General course cleanup Tree maintenance Benefits: Employee meals Golf privileges Uniforms -Pay rate is based on golf course or related experience
