JOB SITE LEAD - TRAINEE We are seeking an Industrial Painter/Contractor Team Leader to join our industrial contractor crew as a working team leader for site beautification and cleanup projects. As a working team leader, you should be comfortable performing the work and, depending on the size of the job, supervising a small crew assisting with the same type of work.In this role, you will primarily be responsible for prepping, mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects. Examples of indoor and outdoor painting include parking lots, brick/concrete/brick surfaces, stucco, sheetrock, plastic, vinyl, and various metal fabrications including piping and sheet metal. These coatings vary based on the needs of each customer. Additional jobs as requested by customers might include site beautification and cleanup, trash removal, pressure washing, light landscaping, general maintenance activities, floor waxing, etc. Applicants should feel comfortable performing physical tasks in various weather conditions.Some night and weekend work is required as well as some travel throughout the Southeast. Duties and Responsibilities • Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs. • Prepare areas before painting. • Pressure washing. • Tape off areas when needed. • Clean surfaces to ensure proper adherence. • Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting. • Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection. • Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. • Use rollers, sprayers, and brushes to coat areas as necessary. • Apply touchups or second coats. • Remove paint splatters when finished. • Cleanup worksite when finished. • Clean tools and company equipment after each use including brushes and spray guns. • Notify manager of inventory needs. • Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls. • Use signs and tape to identify/restrict work areas. • Trash cleanup. • Follow all safety regulations. • Obtain client signature of approval after job completion. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements and Qualifications • High school diploma or GED certificate a plus. • Clean driving record. • Industrial painting experience preferred. • Bilingual communication skills a plus (English and Spanish). • Physical stamina. • Attention to detail. • Ability to problem solve and recommend solutions. Hours Primary working hours are Monday – Friday between 8:00 – 6:00 PM, but some night and weekend work, as needed depending on customer requests, job locations and/or weather. Work Location Work location will be home based or out of an office in Columbia, SC with travel to job sites throughout the Southeast. Most customer projects are same day to/from the customer location with some occasional overnight travel (2-3 days) to complete multiple projects within the same geographic location.
