Hello!! I currently work in the education industry and have a strong passion for learning. I have noticed a trend in the children that I see daily. Most children have not had opportunities to go to museums/learn about other parts of the world/have one on one extra learning time. I would like to form a group (picturing about 8-10 kids) who meet Saturdays (8/9-3pm) to do fun learning. I picture it would be a balance of playing games (passing football/tag/etc), watching fun learning videos/learning about a culture/animal/historical event, and some arts and crafts time. The arts and crafts time will be fun but include a focus on learning (working on writing skills, building solar system models, etc.) The day will be hosted under an awning in the front yard. (Children must be of maturity to stay out of the street, it is a corner house.) I will ask for $5 an hour per kid (not counting the complimentary 8 am-9 am hour). My main focus will also be to expose the children to museums around us (with COVID safety compliance) as they open!! I am picturing Saturdays to follow this type of schedule: 8:00 am: [Optional drop-off time starts] bagels/oranges/apples available: we can discuss specific dietary concerns if needed. Play/Stretch time. 9:00 am: Drop-off time starts. Check-in/Kid intro's, week catch-up. (On Museum Days: leave for museum/meet at the museum) 9:30 am: Drop-off closes (specific concerns can be discussed). 9:30-10:00 am: Introduce day's focus to kids. 10 am - 12pm: Fun Learning: Instructional video, interactive models, building etc. 12 pm- 1pm: Lunch (Leaning towards Sandwiches/easy foods) + Social Interaction Time 1pm- 1:15 pm: Wind-down from lunch, Coping with Emotion time ( On Museum Days: Lunch will be between 1 + 2) 1:15-2:00 pm: Craft time! (On Museum Days: Pick-up from Museum @ 2, head back home starts @ 2) 2:00-3:00pm: Pick-up time! I am looking to start this April 10th or 17th ( I want a couple weeks after my second vaccine first, to promote the safety of your children).
