Job Description The Sea Horse Resort is looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team! This position is hiring for Saturday & Sunday between the hours of 8 AM – 5 PM with the opportunity for additional hours based on business and project demands. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Job Responsibilities Key responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician include: Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space, restaurant, and heart-of-the-house areas. Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work and masonry Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment. Completing maintenance request work orders from all departments in a timely basis Janitorial tasks such as restocking housekeeping carts, trash removal, exterior common area clean up. Performing preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis Ensuring that equipment is working properly Completing other special projects and/or assisting other departments as assigned by Supervisor – on occasion you will be assisting housekeeping staff Organize and maintain a clean shared workspace Communicate inventory needs and quantities to management for future supply orders Job Requirements The ideal Maintenance Technician candidate will have previous hotel/resort experience. We are looking for a high energy, motivated individual who will take ownership and who has the organization skills to manage several tasks at once. The minimum qualifications for the Maintenance Technician position are: Basic knowledge of painting, drywall, carpentry and plumbing is preferred General knowledge of machines and basic hand and power tools Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy Ability to stand, walk and move around during entire shift Must be able to lift, push, and pull items that weigh up to 100 pounds Must be able to ascend and descend stairs with handrails throughout entire scheduled shift as the property does not have elevators. Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions, receive job assignments and communicate progress and/or completion of assignment, and basic guest requests Bi-lingual - Spanish is a plus, but not required. Ability to communicate with guests and resort staff as well as the Ownership Team in a courteous, calm, and respectful manner. Mandatory attendance on Saturday & Sunday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
