Description
We are a custom cabinet shop in business for over 30 years. We are looking for some motivated, accountable, self-starters interested in working in our delivery department. We have immediate openings for delivery drivers and helper professionals to deliver our completed cabinet orders, damage free and on time. Summary: Loading, transporting, and delivering cabinets to clients or job sites in a safe, timely manner as determined by the scheduler. Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, correct, and all required product is accounted for in the delivery. Report any discrepancies as identified. Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles. Essential Functions: Ensure all items for delivery are accounted for, ensure cabinets and additional items are complete, load truck using proper tie downs without causing damage, drive to job sites, unload trucks based on delivery schedule and leave job sites clear of debris or damage. Be an example, set the example for helpers and other employees in regards to professionalism, motivation and willingness to help. Competency: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Have a valid driver’s license- Please be able to provide a driving record from DMV/DOT • Be insurable on a company insurance plan • Be able to maneuver a 28 foot box truck in tight quarters or hazardous constructions zones in varying terrains • Load, deliver and unload a perfect product • Attention to detail, ensuring all product is accounted for and delivered in perfect condition • Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating delivery vehicle • Actively participate in cross training throughout the shop • Motivated to learn and assist in other departments as necessary • Be flexible, productive and volunteer for additional tasks while on the clock • Maintain professionalism at and away from the shop, while on job sites, in front job bosses, possible/potential clients, and home buyers • Be the face of the company in the field • Follow a schedule in order to provide timely deliveries • Be accountable for product • Identify issues and be honest when you have made a mistake Physical/Mental/Cognitive Demands: • Ability to read, write and communicate in English • Be able to lift, carry and walk with up to 150 lbs occasionally upstairs and on uneven terrain • Be able to lift, carry and walk with up to 75 lbs frequently upstairs and on uneven terrain • Ability to maneuver large, awkward and heavy cabinets upstairs and on uneven terrain • Be able to maintain and use proper lifting techniques upstairs and on uneven terrain • Climb stairs while carrying cabinets of varying weights upstairs and on uneven terrain • Walking on uneven and unfinished ground while carrying cabinets • Squatting to use proper lifting techniques • Kneeling as necessary to use proper lifting techniques • Drive for extended periods of time • Ability to problem solve Position type and expected hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 5 AM to TBD daily (Overtime is Mandatory) Travel: Travel is required in and around the Pacific Northwest, hub located in Vancouver, WA with scheduled travel to Eugene, OR, Bend, OR and Tri-Cities. Additional eligibility qualifications: Must have reliable transportation, must be available for the hours expected of the shift and early when necessary, and must be able to read, write and communicate with management regarding delivery issues, equipment, and vehicles.
