Description
Does anyone know of a reputable veterinarian in or near town who will allow a pet owner to physically attend their pet's exam to have an interactive, two-way discussion about the pet's health during the exam, as opposed to having to hand them over, in my case to strangers, with no Q&A during the exam. It is hard enough knowing their animal is scared and not being present to reassure them and to be certain he is not mistreated, because of the fear, but this will make him even more fearful the next time.
It seems to me that after a year of covid, and with other businesses with tight spaces opening at higher capacity, that vet offices should be allowing the owners in again. A place such as an animal hospital or clinic should either have already had germ filtering systems active prior to covid or should have installed them by now. It is painful to hand over the animal you love and care about, even to a reputable vet. Plus, I believe the realtime Q&A is an owner's right.
My dog needs care and I can't find a qualified vet that will allow me past the front door, much less into the exam. At the very least, we should be allowed to be on video or speaker phone during the exam. This is important to the health of the animal and the wellbeing of both the animal and the owner.
