Hands on Seed Starting Workshop
Have the joy, and satisfaction of starting your own vegetable, herb, and or flowers from seed. Starting plants from seeds affords the gardener a much greater, wider and better selection to plant varieties. Learn, and experience the in and outs and special techniques of this rewarding hobby. The class will cover which plants should be started ahead of time, and which seeds should be planted directly in the ground. Class members will plunge hands into the fluffy potting soil and pot up a 6 pack of plants to take home to nurture. Class participants will also learn the technique called soil blocking and leave with an additional 8-40 seed blocks, depending on the size blocker used, to take home as well.
The workshop will be held outdoors with plenty of fresh air and space to work. In the event of rain, the workshop will be moved indoors. Lunch and a single beverage of your choice is included in the price of the workshop. So grab a friend, get some fresh air and let's get our hands dirty and grow some plants.
All supplies are provided, including a variety of seeds to choose from. If you have a favorite of your own, go ahead and bring it with you. Each participant will also receive a free packet of milkweed seeds or butterfly mix seeds to take home and plant in your garden. So grab your gardening gloves and expect to have a good time digging in the dirt.
A minimum of 10 participants must register in order for the workshop to take place.
