Following attendance and demonstrating fire shelter skills a card will be issued by the State of CA Fire Training office. topics include Incident Organization, Safety, Fire Behavior and Situational Awareness, IRPG introduction, DO What is Right, PPE issues, radio and communications issues, Fire Shelter training.
This class is being taught by Rod Collins, retired Division Chief with North Lake Tahoe FPD and current Operations Section Chief on a National Type I Incident Management Team.
Cost will be $75.00 payable at the class. Cash or checks only. Checks can be made out to Rod Collins.
We are offering this class 2 separate days to comply with COVID restrictions. There will be a maximum of 20 allowed per class. Masks will be required and a self evaluation is required to enter the building. All practice shelters are cleaned after each use according to CDC standards. If you have an old shelter you would like to bring and use you are welcome to bring it.
Be sure to bring your SFT ID Number from California. If you do not know it you can look it up at https://apps.cce.csus.edu/sites/stateFire. If you do not have a number you will be marked as a NEW student on the roster.
