Bay Area Woodworking is looking for an experienced cabinet maker (Bench Person). Our cabinet shop is in Richmond, CA and we specialize in high-end commercial and residential cabinets. We are looking for a person who has a great attitude, is well experienced and who can communicate well with others. This opening is for full time work Monday through Friday from 6:00 – 2:30 Qualifications: • Can work independently with minimal supervision • Can follow directions from multiple people in shop and capable of working with others; since this is a lead role you will be working with other employees who will not have the same skill level. • Responsible and punctual. • Ability to problem solve and able to correct problems if encountered; being able to detect if there are mistakes and be able to point them out. • Is skilled with hand tools (chisels, files, card scrapers, etc.) • Has the ability to use cordless and corded power tools safely and adequately and in the manner that they are intended to be used (jigsaw, grinder, drills, etc.) • Is familiar with cabinet construction, as well as familiar with the use of laminates adhesives and all other corresponding aspects of cabinet construction for commercial applications. As well as being knowledgeable in how to clean and care for laminate products. • Has an eye for detail. Ensuring that projects leave in good condition clean defect free and can do so on the daily basis. • Can read shop drawings and is able to interpret them fully, not only for oneself but also can explain to others in the shop. • Has had safety training on all basic shop equipment (Table saw, drill press, jointer, planer, etc.) and is knowledgeable and has had proper training on how to use it adequately. • Knowledgeable on operating typical machines involved in the process of cabinet making (Panel Saw, Hinge insertion Machine, etc.) • Is familiar with hardware (slides, hinges, pull outs, etc.) and can install it properly and correctly using the appropriate instructions. • Must have your own tools. Power and pneumatic tools provided by company. Compensation based on experience. Kaiser medical insurance with 100% company paid employee package.
