SEATTLE REP is seeking a resourceful, and highly talented Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is a key part of our community’s success. From electrical to plumbing to a fresh coat of paint, Maintenance Technicians are repair experts that help maintain our facilities. We’re looking for personable, technically skilled individuals with a keen eye for detail, an ability to learn new skills quickly, a curiosity for how things work, and a passion for working with their hands. ABOUT THE POSITION As a Maintenance Technician, you will work with our Facility Operations Manager to provide exceptional service to a variety of departments and meet the needs within our buildings. Each day will be unique, requiring a diverse set of skills. You will collaborate with the Facility Operations Manager to assess and respond to maintenance issues, tend to preventative maintenance and inspect all areas for cleanliness, safety and curb appeal. Typical duties include, but are not limited to: Keeping Seattle Rep facilities clean, safe and in working condition: o Perform daily walkthroughs of the facility to report issues with the building structure, fire hazards, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc. o Keep entrances, exits, and pathways free of debris and tripping hazards o Maintain inventory of facility equipment including tools, paint, light bulbs, hardware, etc. o Keep maintenance and janitorial storage areas clean and well-organized o Assist in performing routine junk removal o Track, receive, and stock shipments of maintenance and janitorial supplies o Assist with office reconfigurations and remodels Performing maintenance and repairs in the buildings and facility systems: o Repair doorknobs, locks, hinges, etc. o Replace light bulbs regularly o Repair wall surfaces by replacing drywall, mudding, and painting o Perform minor electrical work such as replacing outlets and lighting ballasts o Diagnose, repair, or replace plumbing components including toilets, flush valves, faucets, etc. o Build shelving units in storage areas and office spaces Minimum qualifications • 1+ years of hands-on general maintenance experience • Experience with shipping and receiving in a warehouse setting • Ability to use a pallet jack • Comply with OSHA standards and regulations • Understanding of building systems such as refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. • Familiarity with fire and electrical code requirements • Experience in building construction • The ability to use a variety of hand and power tools • Strong attention to detail • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and diplomacy skills • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and juggle priorities under pressure • Commitment to racial equity and social justice • Willingness and ability to work flexible or additional hours as necessary, including evenings and weekends for special events or other business needs Desired qualifications • Experience with welding • Proficiency with Windows-based computer software and Microsoft 365 software suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams • Trade school or industry designation (CAMT or CAMT II) a plus TO BE CONSIDERED 1.
