Description

A Physical Assessment Test is an important part of the firefighter enrollment process & ensures candidates can perform essential job tasks. Before being accepted for a position in a fire department, those that pass the written exam must also complete a Physical Assessment Test. This PAT measures critical skills of the firefighter candidate and confirms that they will be physically able to perform essential job tasks at fire scenes. At our April Citizens Fire Academy class, you will learn about the eight different activities that make up this test that include a hose drag, a ladder raise, as well as a simulated forcible entry chopping device. During this class, you might even have a chance to test one of the eight activities out for yourself! We hope you can join us! Following CDC guidelines, we will maintain the utmost care for the safety of our attendees and staff during this event. Attendees must complete a temperature scan before being admitted to the event. All attendees must also wear a face covering at all times during the event and attempt to maintain at least 6' distancing between others not in their immediate household.
