Hello, I have a Purpose Bred Longhair Mini Dachshund Male to rehome he is ten weeks old. What does Purpose Bred mean? He was bred by me out of my pair of AKC Champion bloodline show Mini Dachshunds. They were bred in an effort to improve the Dachshund breed and to produce a show dog. This mating produced 5 puppies, 2 boys and three girls. I traveled to Cincinnati last Sunday to meet with the co-owner of my show female, She is one of the top breeders of mini Dachshunds. Also with a lady who is a Professional Show Dog Handler and an AKC licensed judge. The purpose of this meeting was to evaluate or grade out my puppies as potential show dogs. They picked three out of the five that have potential to be a show dog! The pick of the litter was the longhaired male! He is a very nice pup, we don't show longhaired dogs so my co-owner suggested that we place him in a pet home.
