Description

MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Marblehead Police Chief Sreening Committee is looking for resident input as the town ramps up its search for its next chief of police. Current police chief Robert Picariello said in September that he intended to retire after 35 years with the department — the last 14 as police chief — in July 2021. The Board of Selectmen and Screening Committee is asking residents to fill out this survey. The Screening Committee also intends to organize a public forum and is interested in obtaining input from stakeholder groups throughout the community. Any community stakeholder group that would like a chance to offer feedback should reach out to the Selectmen's Office at 781-631-0000 or at [email protected]. The town's job description said it is looking for someone "committed to collaborative leadership" who will work with town leadership to improve the quality of life for all residents and "be able to balance a respect for the long history and tradition of the Marblehead community with a willingness to bring a fresh perspective to the role." Those interested in the position can find out more details here. Did you find this article useful? Invite a friend to subscribe to Patch.
