SPRING VALLEY, NY — More than 100 fire trucks took part in a drive-by happy birthday show of love and grief for firefighter Jared Lloyd's son Logan, who turned 6 on Wednesday. Lloyd, 35, died rescuing residents from a massive fire at the Evergreen Court Home for Adults Tuesday. A resident also died and 13 were hospitalized. Firefighters, police officers, emergency medical teams from Rockland County were joined by neighbors for a huge parade in memory of the heroic firefighter that took more than 40 minutes and ended with a massive gathering. Lloyd had been a member of the Spring Valley Fire Department's Columbian Fire Engine Co. No. 1 for 15 years. An Altice employee, he was a graduate of Spring Valley High School. His father told The Journal News that Lloyd lovedhis sons, firefighting and the Mets. Multiple agencies are coordinating an investigation into the origin and causes of the massive blaze, which destroyed the large, three-story building. Spring Valley Police are seeking any photos or videos from before, during or after the fire.
