Braintree Police Raise $3K For Local Cancer Nonprofit

BRAINTREE, MA — The Braintree Police Department on Tuesday presented a local nonprofit with a $3,000 check to help improve the lives of cancer patients. Police raised the money through the Pink Patch Project throughout October 2020 in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Pink Patch Project is a nationwide awareness campaign where police departments sell pink police patches. Braintree sold limited edition patches, decals and more to raise money for Marisa's Mission. Marisa's Mission was founded in honor of Marisa Federico, of Braintree, who died in 2016, just shy of her 38th birthday from stage 4 breast cancer. Marisa's Mission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families. Over the past four years participating in the Pink patch project, Braintree police said they have raise more than $15,000 for Marisa's Mission. "None of this would be possible without the support of you all," Braintree police said in a Facebook post. "Thank you."
