Photo: Members of the Boston Fire Department RCN Boston, an award-winning and leading provider of fiber and broadband services, announced today its partnership with Beasley Media Group Boston for the “Kitchen Line to Front Line” Initiative. The partnership was developed to show appreciation to the front-line workers and local restaurants who are working tirelessly during these uncertain times to keep the community safe and their business afloat. These front-line workers include fire departments, police departments, senior living centers, EMTs and more. “The Kitchen Line to the Front Line is an initiative that gives thanks to the front-line workers who have given so much of themselves and have been the lifeline for our communities during the pandemic,” said Jeff Carlson, SVP and General Manager of RCN Boston. “Plus, we are helping small businesses by purchasing gift cards from local restaurants and gifting them to front-line workers within that community to show our support and appreciation.” “RCN is an amazing partner and cares so much about the communities they serve. It is our privilege to partner with them to help our struggling small businesses and thank our front-line workers for their service throughout this pandemic,” said Mary Menna, Vice President & Market Manager, Beasley Media Boston. RCN Boston and Beasley Media are purchasing $1,000 gift cards from local neighborhood restaurants and giving them back to front-line workers in that same community. This initiative began on January 18 and will run through March 8. RCN Boston and Beasley Media will highlight a new community and restaurant each week. “The gift card donation is showing appreciation for the men and women at the Revere Police Department,” said Revere Police Chief Davis Callahan on HOT 96.9. “Our numbers have been very high since the beginning; a lot of the business are in trouble and we’ve had a lot of officers that have unfortunately contracted COVID-19 and been out of work quarantining. It’s been a long journey.” When asked what the gift card purchase means, L.J. of Demainos’ Restaurant told HOT 96.9, “It is to help put money back into the business. We can’t thank our customers enough. They have become our friends and family.” Front-line workers that have received gift cards to their local restaurants include: Peabody Fire Department received a gift card to Lupo’s Italian Restaurant in West Peabody. Revere Police Department received a gift card to DeMainos’ Restaurant in Revere. Arlington Fire Department received a gift card to Menotomy Grill and Tavern in Arlington. Waltham Fire Department received a gift card to Tempo in Waltham. BrightView Senior Living Center received a gift card to Bellino’s Trattoria in Wakefield.
