Toms River Families In Need Can Get Meals Over Spring Break

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Toms River schools families who are in need of food will be able to pick up meals over spring break, thanks to a partnership between Fulfill, the Ocean County YMCA and local restaurants. The Toms River Regional School District shared information about the meals on its website. Families need to sign up for the meals, which they can pick up at the Ocean County YMCA on West Whitty Road. "All meals will be prepared by local restaurants on a daily basis," the notice about the meals said. Families are asked to complete the survey so there is an accurate number of meals for each day. "You do not need to provide us with any contact information if you are an individual family," the notice said. From April 4-8, meals can be picked up at the YMCA from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, there will be a special Easter Meal pick-up at the YMCA from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 3. The Easter meal is being provided by Chef Lou's Army, a nonprofit created in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic to help feed those in need in the community. Chef Lou operates Blend on Main in Manasquan. Those who lack transportation to pick up meals can request delivery and must provide contact information.
