DARIEN, CT — A pair of Darien residents have been arrested on warrants in connection with a break-in at Middlesex Middle School last November, according to authorities. Aiden Hills, 18, of Hollow Tree Ridge Road, and Charles Gedney, 19, of Middlesex Road, were charged with second-degree criminal trespass in connection with the incident. The two are accused of tripping a burglary alarm after they broke into the school at about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 27, according to Darien police. Officers were dispatched to the school and saw two people on the second floor through a window. The two walked down a hallway and out of sight. "Officers checked the area and building but were unable to locate anyone," police said in a statement. "While checking the building, officers found a broken window in one of the classrooms on the ground floor. School staff assisted investigators in obtaining video of the two suspects which appeared to be teenaged males." Police released surveillance images of the two suspects, and received "numerous possible identifications." Eventually, police were able to zero in on Hills and Gedney as the suspect, and when interviewed by detectives "admitted to being the individuals seen in the video that had entered the building that night." What the two were doing in the school was not disclosed; additionally police did not say if anything was taken or damaged other than the broken window. Police obtained warrants for their arrests, and the two surrendered to police this past weekend. Both were released on written promises to appear in Stamford Superior Court on April 20.
