RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Ongoing efforts by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department to crack down on marijuana operations continued Tuesday in Aguanga.
Deputies along with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife served marijuana cultivation-related search warrants at seven separate residences/properties in the unincorporated area just east of Temecula.
During the raids, approximately 10,600 marijuana plants were destroyed and 1,488 pounds of processed marijuana were collected for a total combined weight of over two tons, according to the sheriff's department. One rifle was also collected for evidence, the department reported.
The warrants were served at:
44600 block of Jacob Court, AguangaParcel of land near Sorenson Road and Ruben Road, AguangaParcel of land near Leff Road and Foolish Paradise Road, AguangaParcel of land near Chris Allen Way and Bobcat Crossing, AguangaParcel of land near Chris Allen Way and Katies Corner, Aguanga47300 block of Secret Falls Road, Aguanga47500 block of Indian Trails Road, Aguanga Three men were cited on misdemeanor marijuana charges and released with a promise to appear in court. The arrestees included Bernardino Mejia-Yanez, 65, of Aguanga; Kyle Nguyen, 23, of Garden Grove; and Anh Tran, 25, of Fountain Valley.
The sheriff's department has eradicated thousands of pounds of marijuana since the beginning of the year.
"The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has a zero-tolerance policy for these offenses," the department said.
