PLAINFIELD, IL — A month after announcing that Stacey DiBitetto will lead the District 202's newest elementary school in the fall, Ridge Elementary fourth grade teacher Jennifer Lewis has been named the Wallin Oaks' assistant principal, the district announced on Thursday. Lewis' appointment was approved by the district's Board of Education earlier this week. Lewis began her career in education at Ridge in 2006 and worked as the school's Title I after school lead administrator in 2012 and 2014. Wallin Oaks will be the 18th full-service elementary school within the district and is scheduled to open in August. The new school is being built as part of a larger district plan to create enough space district-wide to provide full-day kindergarten to any student who wishes to participate, the district said in a news release. The new school will also help District 202 to move certain education programs every year among buildings because of limited space.
