EAST GREENWICH, RI — The East Greenwich Veteran Fireman's Club of Rhode Island has donated a CPR training package to the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, a social services agency for people with disabilities. The package contains infant and adult CPR mannequins that will allow for employees to receive the best possible training. Although the Trudeau Center previously owned one CPR training package, the new package will be located at Pathways Strategic Teaching Center, which serves children with autism and related disorders. "The East Greenwich Veteran Fireman's Club's unwavering support over the years has allowed the Trudeau Center to make a positive difference in the lives of so many people with disabilities," said Judith Sullivan, President and CEO of the Trudeau Center, in a statement. For over 20 years, the East Greenwich Veteran Fireman's Club has hosted the Trudeau Center's adults with developmental disabilities for Halloween, holiday, and summer parties. Because the pandemic required these events to be cancelled, the club made the CPR training package donation instead. "The Club counts the Trudeau Center holidays as a highlight of our year," said Jim Troiano, President of the East Greenwich Veteran Fireman's Club, in a statement. "We have missed seeing these amazing people and thought a donation may help, until we can all get together again."
