Granite Staters have bet more than $7.5 million, about 182,000 wagers, on the men's college basketball games through the first two rounds via the DraftKings app, according to the New Hampshire Lottery. That is, as they say, a lot of coin. "We did not know exactly what to expect with the Men's College Basketball Tournament from a sports betting perspective — but we knew it would be big, and the betting volume speaks for itself," Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the lottery, said on Wednesday. "We expect this three-week tournament to be the biggest sports betting driver of the year, representing a tremendous opportunity for the New Hampshire Lottery to continue maximizing revenue for New Hampshire schools." Since December 2019, bettors have placed more than 11.8 million wagers totaling more than $443 million. And, more than $2 billion has gone to schools since the lottery was created many decades ago.
