It's been 20 years since we were friends. I always thought we were soulmates, but you were my friend's girlfriend at the time. I have long since stopped recollecting you frequently, but I thought of you today and remember how sweet it was to just sit with you and hold your hand. Sometimes I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then. The innocence of those times was precious.
