McDougall, Acting PIO, (510) 981-5773 TWO GUNS SEIZED DURING TRAFFIC STOP Berkeley, California (Tuesday, March 23, 2021) - On March 22, 2021 at about 2:25 am, a Berkeley Police officer conducted a vehicle enforcement stop in the area of San Pablo Avenue and 63rd Street. Additional officers arrived to assist, and immediately noticed a handgun on the rear passenger floorboard. Officers located two loaded handguns during a subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle. Two individuals, a 22 year old male from Berkeley and 21 year old male from Oakland, were arrested for various firearm violations. The Berkeley Police Department commends these patrol officers and their proactive efforts to safeguard our community.
