As our mechanic you will service, repair, troubleshoot and diagnose all heavy equipment, rolling stock, dump trucks, flat beds, trailers, small engines, hydraulic, & electrical systems. For cable television operator, services include line coaxial and optical fiber cable placement, splicing and home installation. For telephone customers, C-2 performs and manages all of the underground, aerial and buried service wiring work under master agreements. Overview: Service, repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose all heavy equipment, rolling stock, dump trucks, flatbeds, trailers, small engines, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Responsibilities: Service and repair heavy equipment and vehicles Load/unload and drive heavy equipment to work-site as well as in the yard Operate equipment Weld and fabricate as needed Be able to obtain a Class A CDL Drive dump trucks Operate forklift to load/unload truck Follow instructions Qualifications: Dependability - Follow instructions, responds to management directions; takes responsibility for own actions Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in a timely manner; Strives to increase productivity. Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Safety - Follow all safety guidelines. Is alert and aware of surroundings and working hazards. Wears hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, approved safety footwear, and seatbelt. Drivers license is required, CDL A or B is preferred Physical Demands: Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects. Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 80lbs. Load and unload tools and equipment on truck Coordinate movement of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet. 50% of work is performed in a shop environment and 50% outside in typical weather extremes. Work surfaces include concrete, asphalt, gravel, and dirt. Exposure to noisy machinery and traffic – ear protection is available. Frequent exposure to dust and pollen
