Large Moving & Storage Company in Carol Stream is seeking A, B & C Household Goods Van Operators and Movers/Helpers. This position is directly responsible for providing a safe and damage-free pick up & delivery of household goods while maintaining the highest levels of quality & safety for our customers and their belongings. This includes domestic, international, office & industrial and other commodities. This is a safety sensitive position so all applicants must be drug free and able to pass a background screen. Household Goods/Moving experience is preferred. Additional requirements for the position include but are not limited to: *Being punctual to work and in uniform. *Must be physically able to lift/carry heavy objects. *Needs to have excellent communication skills - both written and spoken. *Display mathematical reasoning and able to problem solve using logic. *The Van Operator position includes supervision of the moving crew which includes directing and coordinating the activities of crew members engaged in the moving, packing and storing of household goods, furniture, electronics, machines and office product. *The Van Operator is also responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle, following all DOT guidelines & regulations. We have several types of equipment from straight trucks to tractor trailers to medium duty flat bed units. *Paperwork completion and accuracy. The responsibilities for the care of others personal possessions is extremely important.
