Apply at Our website: RCN4kids.org Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, this position acts as the primary maintenance technician for the property. This role is responsible for the daily hands-on maintenance and upkeep of the facility and grounds, ensuring top condition for aesthetic and safety by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Performs preventive maintenance, initial repair and assistance in installation in connection with: a. Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC System b. Exterior and Interior of Building c. School Grounds 2. Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects, following any NYS, OCFS, OSHA regulations. 3. Contacts and coordinates services with outside agencies to maintain optimal functioning of buildings and grounds including trash removal, exterminators, fire department, office equipment company, snow removal, and landscaping in the absence of or as directed by the Director of Facilities. 4. Supervises facilities and grounds volunteers and contractors as needed. 5. Communicates with outside contractors for project and equipment purchases in the absence of or as directed by the Director of Facilities. 6. Set-up for events as needed. 7. Log pest sightings in the pest control log. 8. Weekly inspection of air conditioners, auto scrubber. 9. Inspection of interior and exterior lighting, including exit signs. 10. Carpet cleaning and maintenance at our Center City location as needed. 11. When weather requires snow removal intermittently between snow removal contractor visits. 12. Work hour flexibility in order to prevent disruption in school day if required. 13. Ensure that all activities conform to safety guidelines. 14. In the absence of day porter/cleaning company, perform tasks in the event of emergency need, i.e., mopping, dusting, windows, and garbage removal. 15. Troubleshoot issues with office equipment, phones, and internet connectivity as needed. 16. Daily communication of playground weather conditions for classroom staff per OCFS regulations in the absence of the Director of Facilities. 17. Create/coordinate/implement alternate plans when repairs/construction/events cause interruption to daily operations. 18. Ability and willingness to transport food or supplies to satellite locations. 19. Receives and prioritizes maintenance work orders. Ensures that materials are available to safely and effectively complete the work orders. 20. Performs other duties as assigned.
