Do you love plants and trees? Have you been stuck inside the house since the COVID outbreak? Does the thought of working in an office cubicle all day make you want to eat a bug? You might be the right person to join our unique company! Sunset Hills Foliage, a locally owned and operated company since 1975, is hiring full-time and part-time interior plant maintenance technicians for sites located throughout DC and Northern Virginia. JOB DESCRIPTION: Our technicians are assigned a weekly maintenance route to provide quality care to our clients’ interior tropical plants, flowers and trees located inside commercial buildings (lobbies, offices, etc.). Duties include proper identification of plants and their specific maintenance needs; watering, dusting, pruning, trimming, cleaning, and rotating of plants and containers on a weekly basis; identification of pests and plant issues and how to treat them; submitting replacement requests for any dead or unhealthy plants; and assisting clients and tenants with questions about plants. THIS IS A PHYSICAL JOB. You must be able to lift 30 pounds unassisted and stand and walk for extended periods of time. We will provide you with the equipment and a smart phone that you will need to take care of your plants. Mileage, tolls, Metro fares and parking will be reimbursed by the company. Experience is preferred but we will train anyone with a positive attitude who takes pride in a job well-done, has a love of plants, and who is dependable and eager to learn! REQUIREMENTS: 1. YOU MUST LOVE PLANTS. Seriously. 2. Valid driver’s license and a reliable car. 3. Proof of ability to work legally in the United States. 4. You MUST be able to use a smartphone. 5. Must wear a face covering/personal protective equipment while on sites during the COVID pandemic. 6. Ability to work unsupervised after initial training is complete. Interested?
