All Star Labor & Staffing has been hired to fill for a Material Handler position for a mold injection company that manufactures plastic parts in Wilsonville. We are looking for one to work Swing Shift and one to work Night Shift. Job Summary for the Material Handler position: Moves and coordinates materials between the staging area, grinder area and machines to facilitate a smooth flow of press operations. Essential Functions of the Material Handler position: • Move materials from staging to needed location. Return unused material to warehouse. • Coordinate the use of regrind on the production floor. • Coordinate the use of dryers. Assure proper dryer temperature time for material. • Track dryer problems and replace parts, as needed. Coordinate repairs with the maintenance department. • Verify lot number, color, material number and quantity staged. Mix material as needed. • Keep machines full of material, per instructions/guidelines. • Coordinate the use of grinders and regrind. Clean grinders as required. • Assure all hoses are secure and all equipment is set up correctly. • Clean dryers and all loading equipment, providing a contamination free environment. • Report all defective equipment to maintenance and/or misuse of equipment to Lead or Supervisor immediately. • Use appropriate machinery and become certified, as required. • Assist in training new Material Handlers, as assigned. Secondary Functions of the Material Handler position: • Keep areas clean and neat for next shift. • Back up Machine Operators as requested. Qualifications for the Material Handler position: • Read, understand and verbally communicate work instructions. • Perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). • Lift, reach and pull 55 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally. • Stand for 8+ hours. • Identify part numbers. • Basic knowledge of material drying, blending and mixing requirements, preferred. • Basic mechanical aptitude. • Problem solving skills. • Able to attain forklift, pallet jack, crane and other required certifications. *Public transportation is not reliable right now due to COVID shutting down bus lines and limiting schedules.
