I’m looking for some people who are interested in writing and/or co-writing lyrics to the increasing mass of music I’ve been stashing away for the past two decades. Do you like Elliott Smith? Nick Drake? Led Zeppelin? The Flaming Lips? Beck? Modest Mouse? Bob Dylan? Two Feet? The Velvet Underground? I’m not saying I’m as talented as these people but perhaps their influence can be heard in my tunes. I play guitar every day and almost every day I’m coming up with some new riff to build off or parts to add to existing songs. What I’m lacking are lyrics. Just having someone there to bounce ideas off of would be a huge help. Believe me when I say that I am very easy to work with. The best idea wins and I’m totally comfortable with it not being mine. A lot of musicians seem to think it’s all a competition and wouldn’t dream of helping another musician, but I don’t have that type of baggage. I’m striving to have a totally relaxed, totally open to any idea workspace, and I’m dying to write lyrics and finish these songs. I’m also open to working on your songs if you have any, and I love creating so if it’s a brand new tune then so be it. I hope to hear from some people. Email responses will be quick.
