Passing laws is like taking pills: there are side affects. Some Bernie Sanders types passed a law which quintripled the tax on yachts here in the U.S. Called it a luxury tax. They didn't realize boats float. Buyers went overseas to buy and registered the craft there, but docked them here. All legal. The revenue went down, not up. And small builders here shut their doors. If gun control laws would stop mass killings, no sane person would oppose them.
