Position Summary: The Construction Crew Member is responsible for providing services building and installing landscaping at residential and commercial properties. The Construction Crew Member is responsible for providing these services for assigned customers or services. The crew member works closely with customers, other crew members, office personnel, sales consultant(s) and management to resolve customer issues and to complete service to customer per scope of work. Reporting Protocol: The Construction Crew Member reports to the Crew Leader or Supervisor. No positions report to the Crew Member. Experience, Education, and Skills Required: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least two years previous experience in a service-related or technical field focused on quality and customer service and/or landscaping preferred. Ability to verbally communicate with crew members, supervisors, and customers. Problem solving skills, friendliness, positive demeanor, professionalism, and desire to please. Must enjoy working independently and in small groups. Valid Arizona driver’s license preferred. Position Function and Duties: •Install new landscaping. •Use hand or power tools or equipment. •Maintain jobsites keeping an organized, clean, and safe site. •Perform a variety of landscaping services on properties including, but not limited to trim, plant, water, seed, fertilize, dig, rake, mow, cultivate, grade, and install irritation. •Must complete work using safe practices including using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined in Northwest Companies’ Injury & Illness Prevention Program. • Inspect work for completeness, quality, and accuracy. •Continually build relationships with customers and, at all times, promote excellent customer service, quality, integrity and professionalism. •Attend all required meetings. •Maintain compliance with all company and state/federal safety standards, regulations, equipment, and procedures. •Inform management of any customer issues or concerns that are not completely resolved to the satisfaction of the customer. •Prepare all equipment and vehicle prior to beginning each day. •Perform all other duties as assigned. Measure of Performance: •Quality assurance field checks •Taking initiative to complete identified tasks •Following instructions •Maintenance of equipment and vehicle •Providing independent initiative •Attendance and Tardiness •Safe practices including, but not limited to, safe operation of vehicles, trailers and equipment. •Customer satisfaction Typical Physical and Mental Demands: Must be able to wear/utilize required safety equipment. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment. Requires constant (65%-100%) walking, bending, reaching, pulling, stooping, kneeling, pushing, stretching, and mental alertness. Requires frequent (34%-65%) climbing and lifting up to (50) pounds. Requires occasional (0%-33%) sitting. Must possess the ability to endure high level of noise. Must possess physical stamina to work outdoors and perform labor continuously. Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range. Ability to communicate clearly preferred. Must possess good hand-eye coordination, gross motor coordination, and manual dexterity. Must be able to withstand heat during hot summers. Typical Work Conditions: Constant contact with customers. Work is performed outdoors, with exposure to all weather elements. Work involves continual use of industry equipment, materials, and products. Work involves daily travel. Special Equipment: Must possess ability to operate landscaping equipment including, but not limited to blowers, chainsaws, weed eaters, trimmers, shovels, applicators, backpacks, truck equipment, safety equipment, mowers, rakes, and others. Ability to operate a vehicle with trailer is preferred. Northwest Companies’ Boot Program provides an annual stipend towards the boot’s purchase. This position is a safety sensitive position as it requires you to work at customer’s home. Hours: 6am to 2pm Compensation Expectations: Employees are paid every week. A payroll calendar is provided by Human Resource at the time of employment and at the beginning of each year. The payroll period begins on a Sunday and ends on a Saturday, and checks are available the following Friday. Direct deposit is available.
