Sure, let's play politics with human life as usual. We can get traffic lights and electronic strips on the ground for about a million dollars or so. And it will take a long time to do this. Or we can be ethical and highly moral?. How? By utilizing a series of signs that are placed 100 yards before The Pedestrian Crossing area. The first sign should warn drivers that a pedestrian Crossing is 300 feet away. The next sign 100 feet beyond the first sign instructs drivers to slow down to 25 miles per hour radar enforced. The Pedestrian Crossing needs to have broad reflective yellow paint arranged in bold geometric forms that are impossible to miss. A flashing amber light can be attached to the signs that is powered by a non electrical generated bulb for nighttime safety. After The Pedestrian Crossing area will be another sign saying resume 'X' mile-an-hour speed. But we know how things work around here and the world. The city council will be much much better off by taking the high road rather than the perfidious political games that has been played out at the expense of our community for far too long.
