Intro to Water Marbling with Textile Artist Mercedez Rex SUNDAY FUNDAY! We'v e added another in person, socially distant, Intro to Water Marbling workshop!  Hosted by the Carpenter Hotel. Join us for an evening of exploring water marbling with textile artist Mercedez Rex. We will cover a brief history of marbling as well as classic patterns before diving in to experiment with basic techniques of manipulating paints on the surface of a water bath. Each participant will have their own marbling vat and time to practice learned techniques and color combinations before transferring their designs to both paper and silk textiles. Ticket price includes one adult beverage! We are taking safety at this workshop seriously! The following measures have been implemented to promote the health and wellbeing of all attendees: Outdoors/ Well Ventilated This workshop will be held in a covered, outdoor event space. The open air event space is equipped with fans to promote fresh airflow and ventilation. Socially distant spacing  6 ft spacing between work stations Masks must be worn at all times when on the Carpenter Hotel property and during the workshop. Hand Sanitizer stationed at all touch points * In registering for this workshop you agree to comply with social distancing measures and to wear a mask for the entire duration of the workshop. Refunds will be issued if executive orders from the City of Austin and Travis county do not allow this workshop to take place.
