HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Individuals interested in serving on the Howard County Public School System's Secondary Language Arts Criteria and Instructional Materials Review Committee need to submit an application by April 9. Candidates can be Howard County teachers, community members and HCPSS students in 8th through 11th grades. Committee members review the selection criteria for instructional materials and recommend revisions, as needed; review any materials requested for reevaluation; and advise, support and advocate for the continuous improvement of the HCPSS secondary language arts program. Membership lasts for two academic years, continuing through June 2023. All meetings will be held virtually for the remainder of the current school year and copies of texts for review will be provided. Anyone interested is invited to submit an application online by the April 9 deadline. All applicants will be notified about the status of their application by April 16.
