ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis arts group will host two silent discos next month. Silent discos are like normal DJ shows, but there's a catch: No music plays out loud. That's because all attendees have headphones that let them toggle between channels controlled by two dueling DJs. Bystanders won't hear any music, but they will hear partygoers singing two different songs. Maryland-based musicians DJ Griff and ALWZ SNNY will rock the crowd. Students from the University of Maryland Lighting Department will put on a visual show during their sets. Director and Multimedia Designer Jared Mezzocchi will lead the lights display. "It's a dance party, but with a twist," the Maryland Cultural and Conference Center, also known as MC3, said in a press release announcing the concert. "This silent dance party is outrageously fun, safe and perfect for all ages!" Masks will be required. Flags in the ground will keep groups 6 feet apart. The distanced concerts, called Project Disco, will take place outside at StageOne Lawn, located at 3 Park Place, on April 23 and 24. Gates will open at 8 p.m. and the shows will start at 8:30 p.m. There are 100 tickets available each night, which is 22 percent of the lawn's normal capacity. Tickets cost $20 and are on sale at this link. Military members, students and artists can get a discount by using the code "MC3" during checkout. Katcef Brothers will sell alcohol at the shows. The bar will only accept cash. Like what you're reading? Invite a friend to subscribe to free Annapolis newsletters and real-time email alerts.
