MAHWAH, NJ — Two New York residents are charged with drug possession and distribution after police found cocaine, meth and other drugs in a Mahwah hotel room. A Mahwah Police Detective was investigating a report of a stolen vehicle on Monday at 9:53 a.m. when a man, later identified as Yisroel Lieberman of Monsey, New York, entered into a Dodge Durango which had multiple motor vehicle equipment violations, police said. Lieberman pulled the vehicle out of a parking lot and police conducted a motor vehicle stop. During that stop a detective found that Lieberman, who currently resides in Toms River, had a hypodermic needle in the car, and that his "driving privilege was suspended both in New York and New Jersey," police said. A search of the vehicle found Lieberman in possession of "a large quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, a methamphetamine smoking pipe and two additional hypodermic needles." Lieberman told the detective that he was staying at a Mahwah hotel with a woman, and there were more drugs in the room, police said. Additional officers were called to the hotel, where they entered Lieberman's room and found additional controlled substances. Natalie Shein, of Brooklyn, New York, was also in the room, and was arrested. During a search of the room police found more meth, cocaine, methadone, clonazepam, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic needles and packaging materials, they said. Lieberman and Shein are charged with: possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine in a quantity of more than a half ounce (but less than five ounces)possession of methamphetaminepossession of cocainepossession of methadonepossession of clonazepampossession of drug paraphernaliaLieberman's charges were placed on a warrant, and he is currently held at Bergen County Jail.
