GoFundMe Sites Raise Money For Mass. Women Who Died In NH Crash

WINDHAM, NH — Families and friends of two women from Massachusetts who died in a double-fatal SUV crash in Windham on Monday are raising money to assist the families. Lesley Martinez Velazquez and Sasha Peralta of Lawrence died after a Jeep Grand Cherokee they were in veered off Interstate 93 near Exit 3 around 5 a.m. Both women were ejected from the vehicle and killed, according to New Hampshire State Police. Peralta's sister, Michelle Gonzalez, started a GoFundMe.com effort on Tuesday with a goal of $20,000. The money will be used for funeral expenses and to care for Peralta's two sons. "Please pray for our family during this difficult time," she wrote. "No donation is too small anything at all would be greatly appreciated. If you can't donate, we would just ask that you share this page to show your support." So far, supporters have raised more than $16,000. A friend of Martinez's, Kathy Espinal, also started a fundraiser on Tuesday, with a goal of $15,000, to pay for funeral expenses and have her body shipped home to the Dominican Republic, "so that her family and friends can say goodbye."
