For the record I was an any one but Hillary voter in 2016, but there was no way I could vote for a Reality TV Celebrity. In 2020 I was an any one but Trump or Biden voter. I guess I should give up on voting. One of the few things I give Trump credit for was directly addressing our huge problem with people crossing our border illegally. We all remember the surge of children who some how managed to walk 1500 miles from Central America to our border in early 2017 to beat the expected Trump ban. The question is how does a 4 or 5 or 12 year old child cover that much distance without ongoing adult support? I remember back in the mid 1990's when illegal aliens started showing up on job sites in Metro ATL. Back then construction companies were paying legal black and white citizens 10, 12 even $18 an hour to roof houses, and the same for framing and concrete work. But then some contractors figured out if they hired off season Hispanic agricultural workers, they could pay them $8 an hour cash, and cut their cost a lot starting with matching FICA and Workers Comp. Liberals like to say undocumented immigrants are just doing the jobs Americans don't want to do. But the fact is the over supply of illegal aliens, lowered pay scales so much in the construction industry in the 1990's, legal residents had to find new work. I thought it was funny in an ironic sort of way when our Media ran an article about how Trump was locking immigrant children in cages in 2018, but it turned out the picture of Hispanic children being held in chain link enclosures, was taken in 2014 when Obama was President. Now Biden is facing the same problem because of his free for all Radical Liberal Democrat views. I learned 25 years ago that 98% of people coming here illegally from Mexico and Central America have a specific address they are heading to with a place to live and a job waiting for them. In 1998 a friend of mine worked for a construction company as a Supervisor making $25 an hour, but he had no construction experience. What he had was he spoke Spanish, so he could communicate between the customer and the laborers. When his company kept growing because they used so many illegal aliens, he would tell people on his crew if they knew any one who wanted a job starting at $8 an hr, to call them. Back then, probably like today, when one of my friends undocumented employees would call one of their friends in Mexico and say head this way, you got a job, they had a system well set up to get them here. Once they crossed the border illegally, always in East Texas to get to Georgia, they would walk North 10 to 15 miles about 500 feet from a basic state Hwy or main county road. Back then our INS kept a close eye on our Interstates, but not so much on the smaller roads. Then some one would pick them up and drive them to a house in Metro ATL. When the Recession of 07 kicked in, Construction was the first Industry to bottom out, so a lot of illegal aliens decided to go home for a few years. Keep in mind a lot of them were smart and sent money back to their family who were doing fine then. After the Real Estate crash of 2007, I was looking to buy some rental houses cheap in 2009. I looked at 2 houses that had been foreclosed on that had been owned by Hispanic people. What surprised me was they had turned their basic 2 car garage into a bunk house with beds for 18 people. Staring in the late 1990's through 2016 they told us there were 11 million illegal aliens here, now I think they say 15 million, try 35 million. All those children who are showing up now at our Southern Border most likely have a legal resident who will take them in, then turn them over to their parents who have already been here illegally for a few years. Our system of immigration has been broken for a few decades. Our politicians have not only avoided the simple solutions since the 1970's, but made them worse by meddling in the elections in Central American countries since the 1950's, and our War on Drugs since the 1980's. Fun Fact: our C eye A was directly involved with importing 80% of the heroine to the USA in the 1960's from Asia though Panama and El Salvador, to a city near you. I hear President Biden just fired a few staff members because they admitted to previous Marihunan consumption. As a Senator Biden was directly involved with making Nixon's War on Drugs worse with his harsher sentencing guide lines for Crack Cocaine than Powder. Then he made things worse in the 1990's with the Mandatory Minimum Sentencing for petty drug crimes, that should not even be a crime.
