Southern Fried Writers is seeking new members! Every 2nd and 4th Thursday night of each month we meet at Manuel's Tavern at 7:00 p.m. to share and critique our latest works. This is a truly open group that welcomes screenwriters, novelists, memoirists, biographers, students, journalists, poets, lyricists, and more. Come ready to share 2,000 words or less of your latest work-in-progress (10 script pages for screenwriters). We will listen to you read it aloud (and follow along on any copies you hand out), and provide you with real-time "first blush" feedback you can use to strengthen the quality and clarity of your work. We read in the order of arrival (first person there reads first, second arrival reads second, and so on). Manuel's is taking steps to lower the risk of coronavirus transmission with new seating, masking, and cleaning practices. The majority of current attendees are either low-risk for severe infection and have scheduled vaccination appointments or have already been fully vaccinated.
