Would you like to help form a Sunshine Pop cover group?

Hardly the ideal band for San Francisco, right?! Well, whatever... I am an aging wanna-be musician who played bass and keys in bands many years ago (and can still sing some decent harmonies, that's me on the far right in the pic singing Eight Days A Week way back in 1967 LOL) and would love to do it one more time. My music is mostly the '60s (with some '50s and some '70s stuff thrown in for good measure)... I would love to connect with musicians/singers interested in recreating some of the pop sounds of the Beach Boys, Monkees, Righteous Brothers, KC and the Sunshine Band, Beatles, Leslie Gore (yeah, would love to have women musicians/singers in the group too!), the rockish/folkish sounds of the Byrds, Eagles, CSNY, etc., and some of the more popish soul like Sly and the Family Stone, Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder (these are just suggested groups, but the range is wide-open to so many groups and songs of that era!) Age is no object here, young and old should write if this music interests you. I love all music but I am not interested in a group that wants to do more modern stuff, hip-hop, etc. There are plenty of groups that do that. The number of groups who do this genre is pretty limited and from what I know of people who arrange high school reunions and other parties for maturer people is that this could be a real strong favorite. Singers should be good leads and/or able to hold solid two-to-four part harmonies. Definitely would need a strong lead and rhythm guitar (I can double on the latter), solid drummer, and brass/sax types also invited (not sure how many a group like this could support but a great multi-instrumentalist/singer would be an asset). And bassists/keyboardists feel free to write as well. I am happy to pick one role and hand the others over to someone else. I am new to this (its been a long time since I've been in a band) but I am game to try it out, get together and see how things go. If you are interested, please email with your info and availability. We will want to be cautious so please either be vaccinated or plan on it as soon as it is available to you (I already got both of my Pfizer doses - purely no sweat).
