Need advice for potty training kids

I'm actually having issues with this. My kids are 4 and 5 and they are having poop accidents just about every single day. When they sit on the potty they insist that they dont have to go or they only go a very little bit. Weve tried the reward system with candy treats and toys. Weve tried multiple kinds of punishment systems working with the reward system. They're both of fiber gummies. We have no idea what else to do. My son is supposed to be starting kindergarten in August and theres no way that he can go if he wont go in the toilet. He hasnt had a potty accident in over a year and my daughter has only had one accident in several months. Potty training has been a major hurdle for us. We've tried everything and are now trying to find a parenting class. Both of my kids are very smart so I know that it isn't that they just don't get it.
