Description
You got my prescription for me the other day at the Walgreens in Glens Falls. Your hair falling out of its hasty bun, I could tell you wished you could be anywhere else. That's why I wanted to make you laugh. Your eyes flashed tiredly at me when you asked if I had any questions for the pharmacist. No, I said. I couldn't think of anything witty to say. I wish I could have gathered the courage to make conversation, any conversation. But I accepted my bag in resignation and turned away, upset that your day went on miserably and ashamed that I was powerless to help.
