Martin Docks, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated individuals to fill the position of shoreline technician located out of our Gainesville, GA production facility. This person will be working along side the barge leader on Lake Sydney Lanier. Must be careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. The position is physically intensive. The shoreline technician must be able to work well with a team on and around fresh water lakes and rivers. You will report to one location and then travel in a company vehicle, with co workers, to and from the job site daily. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying degrees of temperature and sometimes in light rain. Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. digging, stacking up goods) Experience with hand power tools Experience or familiar with heavy equipment (e.g. forklifts, skid steers) Handle and transport materials (e.g. cement) and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders) Assist welders, carpenters, painters or other tradesman on-site Clean up worksites from hazardous or obsolete material Ascend/descend stairs or ladders to access certain sites Walk on uneven terrain and floating surfaces (ie boats and docks.) Able to work in extreme heat and extreme cold weather Repetitive stacking of heavy rock on the shoreline Use a chain saw to cut down trees, limbs and other debris Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 40 pounds repetitively, etc.) Communication and teamwork skills Good hand-eye coordination Be comfortable around water Pre-employment drug screen required Must be legal to work in the U.S. 1099 or Sub-Contractors are welcome to apply. During your contract period we will require you work every day.
