The Mbweebwee Quartet Minus Two Wants You!---Well, Maybe ;) Thank you for all of your responses. The submissions and auditions have been loads of fun. It is necessary to point out they rehearse, perform, write an record in greater and not greater locals of the Antelope Valley. The Mbweebwee Quartet Minus Two is musical comedy and entertainment duo that specializes in the music and comedy of Spike Jones, Kaye Kyser, Hope and Crosby, Jack Benny, Fred Allen, Phil Harris, Fibber McGee and Molly, Edgar Bergan & Charlie McCarthy, William Claude Dunkenfield, Wheeler and Woolsey, Homer and Jethro, Weird Al, Abbott and Costello and anyone else that Dr. Demento is liable to play on his radio show. They also perform original material. For those of you who are scratching your head, the George of the Jungle cartoon series was set in the mythical Mbweebwee provence The Mbweebwee Quartet Minus Two features the talents of Tree Swingin' Steve and Bhwana Barnes. They play Banjo, Ukelele, Accordion and the dreaded guitar. The Mbweebwee Quartet Minus Two is looking to add a third an possibly fourth member. You must be 50 to 66 years old, able to rehearse and gig, there is no sense being in a band that you can't rehearse with or get to shows for. Tell jokes effectively, Allow yourself to be made fun of as part of the act, Fit in on a personal level (no egos, prema-donnas, GIT grads, fake reverends or out of work radio DJs please. ) Be friendly outgoing and have a non-threatening physical image. Clean shaven, No visible tatto0s or piercings (NO ACCEPTIONS) Having a new Bombay Bowler is a real plus too. Play musical instruments other than guitar and sing (badly is Ok to a point), clarinet and trombone would be cool. Gainfully employed (this will not be a money making venture at first, eventually travel expenses may be covered, this is for fun remember?) Singing harmonies is a big plus. They have a specific stage image that the new members must adapt too. No exceptions, reasons or, excuses. But the new member/members will permanent and have as much fun as the group and audience. Position is open to men and women with an intense and intelligent sense of humor. Improv and ad-lib skills are definite plus. Note: This is not a hired gun position. You have to want to be in the group. This is a band not some short lived "project" They have fun and entertain. In post Covid world they will be doing videos with story lines. CD is in the works.
